Northern Greece, Crete, the Peloponnese, Central Greece, Epirus, and many other regions are putting on their aprons and getting their culinary offerings ready.
Set the table. We’re coming.
In some kitchen right now, a pot is boiling a little longer than it should, a frying pan has already caught fire figuratively and maybe even literally, someone is nervously tasting their sauce for the tenth time, whilst someone else is congratulating themselves and awarding themselves a Michelin star. Τhe most delightful table on television is being set, and your seat has been reserved.
Every week, five hosts, each with passion and personal style, take their place in their own kitchen, create the strongest possible menu, and do their very best to impress their guests. With imagination, humor, anxiety, and often a good deal of last-minute improvisation, they compete for the title of the week’s best host. The guests taste, comment, and score. At end of the week, the one who receives the highest score, wins €2,500 and the title of best host.
But in Kati Psinetai, food is only the beginning. Around the table, between cheese and pears, the best moments happen: unexpected encounters, spontaneous teasing, sharp comments, unforgettable one-liners, enthusiastic reviews, and awkward moments, while everyone is trying to figure out… what exactly it is they just tasted. And while the next dish is being prepared in the kitchen, some guests cannot resist the temptation of a little… exploration around the house, which often proves to be just as “spicy” as the menu.
